Print and presentation options
Print technology and longevity
Paper and canvas prints are original digital inkjet prints, produced using high-quality paper or canvas and archival pigment inks in an 8- or 10-colour large format printer. Gloss or metallic prints for face mounting are produced using C-type paper; see Face mounting, below.
With proper care, our inkjet prints will last for decades without noticeable change. Traditional framing, behind glass with acid-free materials, will protect the inks and paper from atmospheric contaminants, as will face mounting and the protective varnish used to finish canvas prints. Prints should always be displayed out of direct sunlight or other sources of strong UV radiation. However, as we have no control over the conditions under which prints will be displayed, and as all dyes change over time, no absolute guarantee against changes can be given. Dry mounting prints prior to framing is optional but recommended to ensure your prints remain flat and free from ripples, especially in humid climates.
A note on colour
While every effort is made to show the images on this site accurately, and produce prints that are as faithful as possible to the digital files, the colours in prints can vary from those files. Computer screens are light sources, made up of red, green and blue pixels (RGB), resulting in vibrant, saturated colours. Prints are made using inks or dyes consisting of cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), and are viewed by reflected, rather than transmitted, light. The CMYK process can only reproduce a range of colours that is smaller than RGB, so some small variations are inevitable.
Matte paper prints for traditional framing
All images of unframed, framed, face mounted and canvas prints on this site are digital composites and are intended for visual representations of appearance only.
Please note: your print will not have the copyright watermarks visible in these representations, which are for internet security only.
Matte paper prints are available in two grades: Standard and Premium.
Standard prints are produced using high quality paper and archival inks, and with proper care will last for two or three decades without noticeable change. Standard prints are unsigned.
Premium prints are made using heavyweight 100% cotton rag fine art paper and archival inks, ensuring a print life, with proper care, of well over a century. Premium prints are individually titled and signed by the photographer.
Prints are made with a generous border to facilitate handling, and for a gallery-quality finish when framed.

Framing is normally only available for customers in Hong Kong, as shipping framed prints internationally is rarely cost-effective. However, we are happy to supply a quote for shipping on request. Please contact us with your enquiry. We offer unframed prints for overseas customers, so the framing can be carried out by your local supplier.
Face mounting offers a clean, contemporary display option.
Your print is mounted to a sheet of 4mm acrylic using special optically clear adhesive, and backed with a 4mm aluminium dibond sheet for perfect flatness. No frame, no borders; your print just floats in space in front of your wall.
Face mounting includes an aluminium framework on the rear of the print to provide complete rigidity and make hanging easy. A wooden hanging block to attach to your wall is included.
Prints for face mounting are made on C-type gloss paper; for additional visual impact, metallic gloss paper is also available – particularly effective for landscape or night-time images. C-type prints are developed with traditional chemicals, and while not as stable as inkjet prints, will still last for many years.
Face mounted prints are finished with no border, so the image is the same size as the print. Images need to be cropped slightly to allow for the borderless finish.
Our stock sizes for face mounted prints are:

A gallery wrap finish on a wooden stretcher frame completes your print at a fraction of the cost of traditional framing. Stretchers are quality pine, 1.5in (38mm) thick, braced to prevent warping or twisting, and are supplied ready to hang.
The stretching process is normally only available for customers in Hong Kong, as shipping finished stretched prints internationally is rarely cost-effective. However, we are happy to supply a quote for shipping on request. Please contact us with your enquiry. We offer unframed canvas prints for overseas customers, so the stretching process can be carried out by your local supplier.
Unframed prints are usually produced and despatched within a couple of days, but can take a week during busy periods. Please allow two weeks before despatch if framing, face mounting or canvas stretching is also required.
Delivery charges include protective packaging, registration for tracking, insurance, and postage or freight charges.
